Hi,
The resurrected forums are a somewhat new feature of the site, even though the site has been around for ages, so I think that most people who know about the site probably don't know about the current forums. The site itself gets a lot of traffic, so I wouldn't call the site itself unpopular. I think that the forums just aren't the focal point at this time, though perhaps they will become a more popular section in the future.

well, the last add in this page is from 2005.... so may be the guy that published the first add had a point, although I think all it needs is a
little push because it sure has good potential. |

I fully agree 
All one needs to do is recommend the kmfms site/forum in likewise forums/IRC channels/Usenet groups.
The only risk is that it will also attract Trolls and MS Astroturfers(tm)
IIRC unfortunately Microsuck and Boycott Microsoft went down recently, so in fact kmfms is the practically the only site we have left to discuss the horrors of the Evil Empire
